Biography

​

Yi Lyn read law at the University of Manchester and was admitted to the English bar in 2011. She commenced her career at Wong & Partners (member firm of Baker McKenzie) in 2012, starting as a pupil and thereafter as a senior associate in the firm’s Tax practice group.
 

During her tenure at Wong & Partners from 2012 to 2018, she regularly advised and assisted multinational and domestic corporate clients doing business in/with Malaysia on a wide range of corporate, commercial and tax matters.

 

From 2018 - 2023, Yi Lyn was legal counsel at 500 Global, a global venture capital firm headquartered in Silicon Valley. In her role as legal counsel for 500 Global’s Asia Pacific operations, she was responsible for overseeing all legal, regulatory and compliance matters including fund formation, structuring and compliance matters, early stage and growth stage VC investments in startups in Asia, as well as general commercial contracts and tender submissions with key corporate and government clients.
